Shiroyuki (Snow White)
Shiroyuki
Long long time ago, there lived a married
couple who that never had children even after many years. One day, while the
wife was sewing embroidery for her husband and she accidently poke her
finger. As the blood drop onto the tatami mat, she looked at it and hope that
she will have a daughter who hair is raven black with red cherry lips. 2 years
later, they were gifted with a daughter as the wife wishes. Seeing how the baby’s skin was as fair as snow, they named her Shiroyuki.
As years pass by, Shiroyuki grew to be a
beautiful lady however she was always locked in her mansion. Her father
remarried after his first wife passed away after Shiroyuki was born, thinking that she needs a mother. The
stepmother however never really like Shiroyuki, in fact she is jealous of her
beauty. After her father passed away, leaving Shiroyuki and her stepmother,
the stepmother treated Shiroyuki as a slave.
One day, Shiroyuki was sitting by the
veranda, singing. The stepmother wasn’t home at that time, so she
took the time to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather. Meanwhile, there was a
young prince sneaked out of the palace. As he was passing by, he heard this
beautiful melody coming from a residential area. He went to search for it and
he tried climbing into a house but he couldn’t. To his surprise, the house was
guarded by a force field.
Everyday, the stepmother will locked herself
in the room and face her mirror. Her mirror is not an ordinary mirror but a
magic mirror she got it from seeking the power of the evil spirit. She would
ask the mirror, “ Mirror, mirror, who is the fairest of them all” Then every
time the mirror will answer “Shiroyuki”. Because of that, the stepmother
always torture Shiroyuki and always to make sure to bruise the girl.
One day, the stepmother asked her to go to
the store to get some food. Shiroyuki was surprised by that request, as she
was never allowed to go outside the mansion. After some time, she hesitantly agreed. After
Shiroyuki left the room, she hired a samurai to kill her but have to show
prove.
On the outside world, Shiroyuki was really
amazed how the world is so wide. She was happy at first but soon she felt as if
someone is following her. Walking faster, the stalker begun pursuing her and
she ran deeper into the woods. The stalker kept up with her and told her about
his task. She was shocked that her stepmother would do such thing. Pitied Shiroyuki, he cut some
of her hair and tried to add some blood of his for the stepmother and he told
her to run and never return.
She ran deeper into the woods and finally she
found a house in the middle of the woods. She slowly walked closer to the house
and found out that that was filled with children. The children were surprised
by the presence of the young lady. They went out and looked closer at her. The
eldest one came to her and saw that she have bruises all over her. Instantly
she took her in.
Meanwhile, ever since that day the prince sneak out of
the palace, he kept thinking about the girl with the sweet voice. Soon, he
decided that he want to marry that girl. Whenever he got the chance to go out
of the palace, he would pass the house in hoping that she will sing again.
Although Shiroyuki was chased out of her
home, the children really welcomed her and were very kind. Everyday she played
with the kids and helped them with their chores. She was really happy there.
The stepmother however, ever since the
samurai give her the bloodstained hair, she never really asked the mirror. She
thinks that Shiroyuki is really dead and she’s the most beautiful woman of all
time. Curious, she checked with the mirror. “ Mirror, mirror, who’s the fairest
of them all.” “Shiroyuki is the fairest of them all”. Furious, she tried to
track her with her black magic and she found Shiroyuki is at an orphanage far
into the woods. Immediately, she transformed herself into an innocent old lady in order to get closer to her little stepdaughter.
That morning, Shiroyuki was alone while the
children went to school. She was cooking when she realize there were not enough
ingredients, she decided to go shopping instead. On the way back to the forest, she saw
an old lady walking. She was holding onto a bag of groceries and was looking
very tired. Snow White immediately went over to help her and the lady said that
her ankles were killing her. She piggybacked the old lady back to her house, and
tend to the lady’s ankle.
After the lady is feeling better, she offers
Shiroyuki some rice ball that she had it in her grocery bag. Shiroyuki decline the lady’s offer but the lady insisted her to take. She hesitantly took
the rice ball and took a bite of it. After a while, Shiroyuki fell dizzy and
fall into unconsciousness. The rice ball was actually casted by an evil spell
that whoever eats it will fall into an eternal slumber. The old lady checked
whether Snow White was really unconscious then she leaves the house with an
evil laugh while transformed into her self. Not knowing that she owes the evil
god for casting the spell, she was punished to death when she was on the way back.
The children came home, thinking about Shiroyuki's delicious food. As they went in, they saw Shiroyuki lying unconscious.
The eldest one came and check for pulse but couldn’t find any, so she declared
to the other children that she’s no longer here.
They were saddened by this sudden news but
they all helped in putting her into a box that they made themselves. They were hoping that a miracle come by. Meanwhile,
the prince came into the forest, claiming that he heard the same voice was
heard here. Then, he saw 7 children surrounding a box, crying. Curious he went
there and saw the most beautiful woman he ever lays eyes on. He falls for her
in the first sight, the children saw his approach and they clear the way for
him.
The prince walked closer to the girl and
kissed her on the lips. The children were amazed and happy that Shiroyuki starts to open her eyes. Shiroyuki was surprised at first, and then she
remembered what happened, she thanked the prince. The Prince proposed to her and she agreed.
And
they lived happily ever after.
